OUR PASTOR

 

Pastor Rose Lynn Brooks born the third of six siblings to James and the late Minister Ora Lee Deering on September 15th in Marianna, Florida.  Educated in the Michigan school system, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Professional certification in Hospitality as a Certified Military Lodging Executive, and a certified Hospitality supervisor. Pastor Brooks received her Diploma in computer programming and operations in 1986 from Hallmark Business Institute. In 2005 she attended the Phillips School of Theology and received  her certificate in Theology. She was licensed to preach in 2003 and received her ordination as a Deacon in 2005 and as an Elder in 2007. Pastor Rose Lynn Brooks serves as the District Secretary for the Montgomery Phenix City, Opelika District under the leadership of Presiding Elder Richard E. Hassell.

Youth Minister at MT. Zion CME Church, 2003 to 2005 under Pastor H.C. Wilkes

Pastor, Oak Grove CME Church – New site, Alabama 2005 to 2007

Associate Pastor – Phillips Temple CME Church 2007 to 2009

Pastor, DW Bass Memorial CME Church April 2009 to July 2011

Pastor, Garners Chapel CME Church - July 2011 to April 28, 2012

Pastor, DW Bass Memorial CME Church - April 29, 2012 - July 29, 2013

Pastor, Garner Bass CME Church (Combined)  July 29, 2013 to present

She is married to Dr, William GH Brooks and is the Proud mother of two biological daughters, Rolanda Rogers, and Sabrina Crawford, one step daughter Mandi Staker along with six step-sons, Kyle Brooks, Moses, Altonia, LaTonya, Juan and James Phelan. She is also a grandmother of 29 Grandchildren & 5 Great-grand’s.

She is a member of the NAACP and sits on the executive Board of Survivors for Survivorscate for Domestic Violence

Her favorite Scripture is 1 Corinthians 15:58…"Be ye Steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as you know your labor is not in vain in the Lord

A member of the Southeast Alabama Region under the leadership of Bishop Teresa E. Snorton, Presiding Prelate. 

 

We  are part of the the Montgomery, Phenix City, Opelika District known as the Fabulous Flourishing Fifth.  A changed people changing the world  Our physical location is 1300 6th Place South, Next to Edmunds Estate.
